Tim has worked as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in the Northwest since 1984. He qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in the 1970’s and has since trained as a Behavioural Psychotherapist, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Psychosexual Therapist and EMDR Therapist (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
Qualifications: MSc in CBT; BSc (Hons) in CBT; PgCert Higher Education; Postgraduate Dip Human Sexuality; Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN); Cert Behavioural Psychotherapy; EMDR Level III. Fellow of the Higher Education Academy
After thirty seven years working in the NHS, as a Mental Health Nurse and CBT Therapist, he continued his career as Senior Lecturer in CBT at the University of Cumbria. From 2008 until 2016 he has been Course Director for the Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in CBT, training over a hundred experienced Mental Health professionals in CBT at the Lancaster and Carlisle campuses. He has worked in private practice as therapist and trainer since 1989.
As Clinical Supervisor to qualified and trainee therapists Tim offers guidance and support, using an approach based on CBT therapy skills.
Clients are seen at the BMI Lancaster Hospital, www.bmihealthcare.co.uk/lancaster and BMI Gisburne Park Hospital www.bmihealthcare.co.uk/gisburnepark. Home visits are made by arrangement.
Tim is registered with all major medical insurance providers including AXA PPP, Aviva and BUPA.

After a long career as a therapist in the NHS, including work in a specialist trauma service Tim has been Course Director for the Postgraduate Diploma in CBT at the University of Cumbria
